No, I'm not referring to big trucks or the like. This page is about the vehicles I have owned. Just because. I'l have some photos when I can get them scanned... after I am able to find them in the first place.
I - II - III - IV - V - VI - Mini-Hauler - Future
The first vehicle I owned was from my father - a 1965 Corvair, white in color. A very nice car, the Corvair (I don't care what Ralph Nader has to say about it - you treat it right, and you'll have no problems). My ownership ended when I hydroplaned on wet grass and went into a ditch. Reason for hydroplaning: avoiding an 8-point deer, as there's nothing but the trunk in the front of a Corvair. Ah, well...
Here's a picture of a 1965 Corvair:

I still maintain an interest
in Corvairs in general, and keep an eye on sites about them:

Replacing the Corvair was a strange vehicle - I cannot recall the year off-hand (I think it was a 1970's era), but it was a Buick Special. Inside the engine compartment was a Pontiac engine, though - a straight 6. Very poor mileage. It gave up the ghost, and I retired it to a junk yard.
Here's a few pictures of the driver's side:

Third vehicle was a 1972 Avacado Green Chrystler-Plymouth Cricket. Cute little thing, manual transmission, 4-cylinder engine that could bark the tires in three gears. Wonderful car, but this one was retired after throwing a rod through the engine block. Quietest running car with a hole in the engine I ever heard.
For those interested in information on the Cricket, I have found a link: http://www.allpar.com/model/cricket.html
After retiring Long Hauler III, I drove one of my mother's vehicles - she had a Ford Pinto for awhile, and an Oldsmobile stationwagon, as well as her own little Fiesta. Then I joined the Navy, and until I first married, I peddled wherever I wanted to go.
A dark blue Ford Escort Wagon, I cannot recall the year (Eighty-something), though I might find some information later. Didn't have it very long, less than a year. Had more troubles with this than any other car I ever owned or otherwise drove - first and last time I bought a vehicle from a Used Car Dealer. Allowed reposession of the vehicle back to the bank, and paid off the loan. For about a decade, just used a bicycle for transport, with the exception of renting a truck to move.

A 1983
Silver/Gray Cheverolet S-10 shortbed Pick-up. It was the vehicle
I had owned the longest. I got it in 1995 from my sister and her
husband. It was a good little truck, got me (and Carrie) from
point
A to point B when we needed. Unfortunately, I needed to retire it
in 2003 for various reasons - too much work would be needed to keep it
up. And blowing out the head gasket returning from Ohio didn't
help matters at all.

"Mini-Hauler" is what I call my bicycle these days. I've had quite a few in the time I've been in the Navy. I usually ride them to pieces. I recall one that I ran into a car in San Francisco... messed it up pretty bad. I only got a couple large bruises out of the deal.

Current Mini-Hauler is a 2000 CT model Bike E Recumbant Bicycle, Black in color. A recumbant looks weird, but once you get used to the differences in handling - I think they're great!
I've a few dreams about vehicles I'd like to own, much like anyone else. I'd like to own a Corvair again, but those babies are popular enough to be difficult to acquire. If I am lucky enough to win a large sweepstakes or lottery, I dream about getting a Hummer. Another vehicle I've been interested in is the Postal Jeep that has the driver on the right side... just because it doesn't conform to most vehicles. And, lastly, I've thought it might be fun to take a double-decker bus and convert it to a recreational vehicle.
