NTNT Season 2 RACE 1-East Coast Monster Jam 2003

FREESTYLE

The freestyle track was still fresh when Bill Haught took Maximum Destruction out for a try at all the obstacles, and he had a 21 with a few very nice moves like these:

Scott "Razorbear" Bergman showed no fear on his way to a 24 and the early lead with hits like this on the small container setup:

Next came Brandon Perles' first run in American Dream. Brandon had a great run going, saving the truck against a wall, then trying a reverse move over the container and getting a huge nose sky wheelie...too huge in fact. It rolled the truck well short of time, giving him an 18. If he has more moves like this in store for the fans, he'll soon become a crowd favorite!

Eric Thiele took an unusual-looking Sesame Street Live-sponsored truck out and couldn't do much with his run, scoring only a 15. He promised the fans a better performance next time.

Harry Widelitz was the racing runner-up tonight and was still getting used to the truck in freestyle. Although it was a solid run ending in a roll, Harry had some momentum problems. He did, however, get a few good sky wheelies going and scored a 17.

Jason Lloyd's freestyle in Black Stallion 20th was his first in NTNT, and he showed no fear, attacking everything on the track and doing a spectacular endo to end his run, earning a tie for the lead with a 24.

Next out was Jeremy Waring, disappointed from being beaten by inches in racing. He set the bar very high with a 26 to take the lead, wheelieing into his next obstacle and pulling several sidesurfs and saves. In his first race in NTNT, Ultra has already established himself as a major contender.

Juan Perez has had his share of problems in the past, but has recently decided on being independent for the moment. Rumors of a new team abound, but we'll have to wait and see. He scored a 20 in Black Bear Foot.

Jon Lenhardt was testing out Savage and getting a feel for it, and he got vertical over the container, then took it easy to save equipment for the next week. Lenhardt has plenty of power in that Hemi motor, and he told the crowd he'd be going all out at ProDRO World Finals 3 next week.
