RACING:

Team XFA was locked and loaded for this one, as was IMTR, and as always, the Veterans team. XFA sent Robbie Milburn, Robby Haught, Dustin Hart, and Eddie Carmichael, while IMTR had Alex Weber, Jon Lenhardt, and Brandon Perles. The Veterans team is three strong as usual with Landon Harrison, Harrison Widelitz, and James Hanon. These teams played into the qualifying results and first round of racing, as we see here:

Robbie Milburn and James Hannon (subbing for Jason Lloyd in Black Stallion 20th) were the surprises here; this was the first time they qualified in the top five all season. We'll see how the matchups play out in the first round...

ROUND 1 HIGHLIGHTS

Charlie Wagner and Kyle Carr had an interesting end to their first-round matchup. Dead even coming out of the turn, both drivers floored it, but apparently something went away on Sudden Impact's steering and Carr took a wild ride, giving the win to Wagner and Goldberg!

Trevor Andrews got a surprise win over his mentor, Dustin Hart, while Jeremy Murphy looked very strong in taking Eddie Carmichael out. Ed would come back as fast loser.

Bill Haught also picked up a win in Maximum Destruction; Bill has been looking like he's practiced more lately and could be a contender tonight.

ROUND 2 HIGHLIGHTS

Round 2 saw a great matchup, with Jeremy Waring and Harrison Widelitz facing off. These two always run very close and this time was no exception.

Harry got the win this time and headed for the semis. Robby Haught came to the pits after his qualifying run saying that he had a "bad run" even though he was one of only five competitors under 24 seconds on the track. During his matchup with Charlie Wagner's Goldberg, he proved his statement correct by running a time of 23.14 on the way to the win. Matt Stewart's Nevermore had a huge upset over Mike Alston and Team Meents, who spun out in a turn, and also made the trip to the semis. Landon Harrison said he had the wrong setup for qualifying, and once that was corrected he swept through his half of the brackets, taking out Juan Perez, then Eddie Carmichael, though Ed put up a GREAT fight in spite of his slower connection:

That set the semis up...

SEMI-FINALS HIGHLIGHTS

  VS.

Robby Haught had the fastest qualifying time of the remaining competitors, and he put Matt in the weaker lane for him, then took the victory with a smooth turn. He hopped out of the truck and waited to see who he would face in the finals.

VS.

Harry made good on his guarantee for a semifinal berth this week, but would go no farther. Slick shut the door on Hammer's run with a great run in the right lane, winning by about a half truck length. That set up a great final round matchup:

FINALS

Robby was shut out in the finals last week and wanted this one badly-he had never beaten Slick before, the closest being NTNT's race at Brampton City 2002 last season. Landon is used to being in the finals but got upset last week. With both drivers looking for redemption, the intensity was jacked up another notch or two.

Robby had lane choice and elected to run the same lane he'd been running all night, the right. This put Landon in an unfamiliar lane.

The start was dead even, and the first turn and straight drag down the RMJS Alley was STILL even...into the turn Robby has a slight lead!

Robby has a bit of trouble coming out of the turn! It's gonna be real close...

Landon gets wild on the big jump in between the lanes! And Robby takes it by a truck length!!! Robby whipped Skitso into a few donuts, then hit the big jump and pulled a slap wheelie when he heard the news!

As the trucks' times were announced, both drivers shook hands and headed to the pits to prepare for the next competition...FREESTYLE!

We're not done yet; it's a good thing the track's big because 27 trucks are ready to roar onto the track and tear everything on it up in...FREESTLYE!
