RACING:
The big story in the pits was the tight points battle heading into the race. Josh Rhodes, John Everett, and Robby Haught still all have shots at the overall championship, with Corey Davis' Reptoid not far behind. The competition for those crucial points tonight would be fierce, and the intensity was sky-high in the crowd and on the track. Let's go down to the floor for the action.
ROUND 1 HIGHLIGHTS
Word came immediately from the pits that John Everett was having problems firing up the Blue Thunder for his first round matchup with Mike Alston's Sniper. John eventually got the truck fired, but lost the race, then was heading back to the pits to prepare for the fast loser race when something let go in the transmission, not a good sign for the Blue Thunder team. He'd have to see if he could get the truck fixed in time for freestyle. With a break like that, Robby and Josh knew that they'd have a chance to help their standings in the points. They both advanced in the first round, in addition to Slick's MoonShiner, Corey Davis' Reptoid, and Bill Haught's Freak of Nature, among others.
ROUND 2 HIGHLIGHTS
Round two was definitely a thriller round, with many close races, none closer than the one between Josh Rhodes and Halid Kurtic. Halid would get the win by inches over Half Breed 3, putting Josh on the trailer a little earlier than he'd wanted. Another upset came when the brothers Haught faced off for one of the first times ever online. Robby had lane choice but made a bobble in the turn, while Bill made his best run all season in the Freak of Nature and put Robby on the shame train. He congratulated his brother on going to the semi finals for the first time.
SEMI-FINALS HIGHLIGHTS
Eventually
the semis came, and the crowd saw some new and some old faces there. Bill Haught,
Landon Harrison, Corey Davis, and Halid Kurtic paired off, with Davis and
Harrison moving on. Bill gave Corey all he could handle in his matchup and seems
to finally be placing more value in racing, something that helps his battle for
a spot in the World Finals.
FINALS
Corey Davis and Reptoid won the first racing competition that NTNT ever held, and it has been a long time since he'd seen the finals. He got his shot against Landon and MoonShiner, who's been red-hot the last few weeks, seeming to win everything racing-wise. Could Corey stop his streak? Landon got a slight hole shot, and Corey took a bad bounce coming out of the first turn...

...and tonight's racing winner is Landon Harrison and the MoonShiner! Congratulations to both drivers on a great final race. But there's still more left; freestyle is next!
