.:Story:.
It is the year 2071, the Earth is uninhabitable from years of
bombardment by
meteors. Mankind has fled Earth for the planets of Mars, Venus, and
Ganymede along with many satellites in the Solar System. Amidst this
chaos,
crime is the most prosperous and chosen profession. The ISSP (Inter
Solar
System Police) are all but powerless against this wave of crime.
Bounty
hunters, or cowboys, have become the ISSP's most useful ally against
crime.
Aboard the old fishing vessel, the Bebop, lives an unusual group of
Cowboys.
They are Spike Spiegal, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Edward Wong Hau
Pepelu
Tivrusky IV, and their data dog Ein. Spike was once a criminal
himself.
Spike spent much of his young life with the Red Dragon Syndaqit on
Mars.
Jet is a former ISSP detective, but after an accident, that cost him
his
arm, Jet left the ISSP to work on his own. He teamed up with Spike
about
three years earlier. Faye's past is unknown and mysterious. Ed is a
hacker
who forced her way onto the Bebop. She is fairly young, but still a
great
asset to the Bebop crew.
.:Dubbing:.
The dubbing is very good. To those who are used to shows like DBZ
and
Pokemon, the dubbing will blow you away. Their are few instances
were I
find my self complaining about they dubbing. In fact, off the top of
my
mind, I can't think of anytime when I really was annoyed or bothered
by bad
dubbing on Cowboy Bebop.
.:Voice Actors:.
The voices in Cowboy Bebop may seem familiar to us anime fans.
Spike's
voice is probably the most familiar. He is voiced by both Steven
Blum and
David Lucas, who surprisingly have the same voice. Both have done
voices for
may different series such as Last Exile and Big O. Jet is voices by
Beau
Billingslea, who has done the voice for Jigen in Lupin III and many
more.
Faye's voice is the same as that of Wendy Lee, herself is no stranger
to the
anime industry. Ed's voice is done the beautiful Melissa Fahn, this
is her
biggest role in the anime industry so far. These are some of the
best voice
actors I've heard in the anime industry. Together they make for a
great
cast with good chemistry. The voices fit the characters
personalities
almost perfectly.
.:ArtWork:.
The art work excels under the leader ship of director Shinichiro
Watanabe,
one of the minds behind the Animatrix. From its action sequences to
the
breath taking panoramas. This is the area is also were the show
takes a
very short dip in quality, due to the fact that on few occasions the
art is
just a freeze fram. Now, this isn't that big of a problem. Don't get
me
wrong, the art is still great, but like most other things it has a
few
(that's a really small amount) problems. All in all the art is still
great
just not quit the best ever.
.:Music:.
This is by far the best part of Cowboy Bebop. The music is done by
the
musical master Yoko Kanno. From the opening song, Tank, to the
ending song,
the Real Folk Blues, Cowboy Bebop is a non-stop jazz and blues
festival.
Kanno seems to have the right song for every scene of this series.
If its
action she comes up with a song that gets your heart pumping. If its
a sad
scene, she makes songs like rain that will make you cry. Over all I
say the
music is the best in the industry.
