Anime Central – Geneon License Announcements
New installments of Inu Yasha will be skipped on October 23rd and 30th. In its place, The Animatrix will be twice shown on Saturday, October 30th, once at Midnight and once more at 3:00am (early Sunday Morning), and on October 23rd Read or Die will be transmitted in the same time slots.

Anime on DVD reports that it appears that C.B. Cebulski has stated that CLAMP will be working on a project for Marvel Comics.

Famed anime director Hayao Miyazaki came in fifth, preceded by singer and actress Akiko Wada, actor Takuya Kimura, comedian Sanma Akashiya and actor/director/comedian Beat Takeshi.

FUNimation announced at AKon that they have acquired the license for Gunslinger Girl (TV). Meanwhile, ADV announced the licenses for Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch, Sakigake!! Cromartie High, and E's Otherwise.

Tokyopop has sent out a press release announcing the upcoming release of Coutney Love's Princess Ai, a collaborative work between Coutney Love, DJ Milky, Ai Yazawa and Misaho Kujiradou. Details about Princess AI were first made public last July.

As much as I'd like to say that if there's anywhere 'Innocence' can succeed it's at the ultra-elitist Cannes, that simply isn't true. Those people are prejudiced against animation for the most part; if it were live-action, they'd be tripping all over themselves to lavish it with praise. Since it's animated, though, I just can't see it winning much of anything.

Maybe Geneon is getting revenge on ADV for getting "Nurse Witch Komugi" (the "SoulTaker" spin-off)? While I suppose it's a possibility, Pioneer will not likely have the balls to use the original Dub cast like ADV did for Komugi.

Square-Enix announced at E3 that it would be localizing Fullmetal Alchemist in association with Funimation.

Zeta Gundam Movie in 2005
Sunrise has a website for the Z-Gundam Movie up at Z-Gundam.net. Of course, I hope that this film means brand new cartoons for my preferred Gundam name... please say it is so!

According to this month's subject of Newtype Japan, the first quantity of Gunbuster 2 will be free this Autumn (September 24th according to Moon Phase), and will be six incidents, with following incidents approaching out each next month.

Cartoon Network Frees Up Your Weekday Afternoons
Starting mid-April, Toonami will air from 7pm to 2am saturday nights. The new schedule will seemingly be filled with nothing but anime and Japanese-influenced cartoons.

Unpopular Manga Mag Seeking New Path
Raijin Magazine, circulated, unfortunately for itself, at the height of Shonen Jump USA's popularity, is going on a hiatus. Publications, though popular among certain fans, hasn't reached a broad enough market. All subscribers (all 18 of you) will be getting their money back.

Tickets Sell Out As They Go On Sale
Just one day after tickets went on sale for the first US Final Fantasy concert, being held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Disneyland on May 10th, sold out. Concerns first arose that this also takes place during E3 - the biggest US gaming convention of the year. However, the concert is now actually being considered a part of E3.

Lost in Translation...
You just KNOW a Japanese-English translator was fired today for the 2 week long controversy over Negima. Ken Akamatsu, the manga-ka most famous for Love Hina and the more recent A.I. Love You, was supposedly furious over the 10 pages worth of censorship publishing company Del Rey had planned for Negima.
