Berserk is one of those titles that come out once every blue moon to grace us with its excellence. Created by Kentaro Miura, Berserk has appeased readers with its, extreme violence, horrifying, and enthraling story. Spawning several toy lines, a TV series, and a loyal fan base in Japan. It is obvious that Berserk is a treasure to behold.
The art in Berserk is top notch, some of the best out there if you ask me. The action scenes are well plotted out and gives you a sense of motion that is hard to do in manga. You can feel how fluidly the characters move from scene to scene and you never get that sense of what just happend during a fight. The character designs are original and easily identifiable.
Now to the story, Kentaro Miura takes such a simple story line and add so much more depth to it. If you were to just generalize the plot you can say its a "Revenge" story. But this is so much more then just some revenge story, for you get a real sense of who the characters are. This is a character driven story if ever there was one, what keeps the story going is not the actions in the plot but the characters themselves. Each character in this story is well defined and more then some 2D sterotype you normally get in manga.
In short this is a by far one of the best manga series out there. I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of serious manga, with infamous characters, and intense action.
