.:Cowboy Bebop:.
Cowboy Bebop should be very familiar to most anime fans since it is a
wildly
popular series that has spawned one video game (second videogame will
be out
sometime this year), a movie, and two manga series. The first manga
to try
to cash in on this huge popularity was Cowboy Bebop: Shooting Star.
It
failed to obtain the quality that the anime had. Thankfully, we
have a
much better manga to quench our thirst for the tails of the Bebop and
her
crew.
The background, as most of you know, centers around the trials and
tribulations of four bounty hunters, their dog Ein, and their
mysterious
pasts. Like the anime there is no heavily recurring plot, it goes
from one
great story to another. The story easily fills the boots left by the
anime
and follows the Bebop pattern of entertaining cat and mouse games.
Even if
you never saw the show you can easily love this manga. Yutaka Nanten
has
earned my respect as a manga writer because of the great stories he
provides.
If you were worried that the art would not be as good as in the name
than
you are wrong. This is some of the best art in a manga I have ever
seen.
Not only does it look as good as the anime, it looks even better.
Even
those who don't like manga can appreciate the art and stories of
Cowboy
Bebop. The art could impress even the pickiest of anime critics.
All in all I am in love with this manga. My only problem is its too
short
at only three books. I highly suggest that if you love Cowboy Bebop
or not
you should pick this manga up as soon as possible.
