There have been countless millions of productions of "The Mikado" since 1885,
from the slick and professional on down to the humblest of amateur and high school versions.
The following gallery is a selection of a handful of the numerous, often imaginative
posters that have been designed for the operetta.

This is the poster for an animated film which featured the great Anna Russell as Katisha!

This one has a delightful Kabuki look.

This was a student production at MIT.

A D'Oyly Carte poster from the 1920's...

...and a subsequent one after the production was redesigned

And this is a VHS poster for the 1939 movie.

This was the original D'Oyly Carte poster from 1885.

This was drawn by G&S artist, Lucille Corcos

This featured a performance by Martyn Green. Katisha is unidentified.

This delightful poster features the sets and costumes used in "Topsy-Turvey",and are very similar to the actual original costumes.

And more recently, a poster from the charming Stratford festival production in Canada.

This glamorous poster looks more appropriate for "Carmen" than "The Mikado"...

...and this hilarious poster could have been designed for nothing else!
These last two posters are not theater posters at all, but commercials for Sapporo Beer and Guiness Stout, respectively.

The following is a collection of album covers
from assorted LP and CD covers. This is but a tiny sampling of the hundreds
that have been produced over the years, but these are among the more interesting.

,,,to the sublime, with Martyn Green (1936)

With a funny Kartoon Koko

With a Kute Kartoon Koko.

A light-hearted illustration of Koko and Katisha.

A striking illustration by favorite artist, Sheila Beckett.

This young lady is not clearly identified, but is most likely meant to be Yum-Yum.

On the other hand, these adorable Maiko are unmistakably Yum-Yum and her two sisters.
