The following illustrations are a few of the ones I painted back around 1978 when I was planning to write and illustrate a version of "The Mikado" for young readers. It didn't work out for a number of reasons, but I still have many of the pictures. They appear not only on this page, but throughout this site. The pictures are copyrighted, and I am asking you to please not take them, or otherwise use them without my written permission. After all, some day i may find all the missing elements and publish this thing, anyway. Just enjoy the pictures, and feel free to ley me know if you like them when you sign my guestbook.
Listen to "THE FLOWERS THAT BLOOM IN THE SPRING."

POOH-BAH: "...When all the great officers of State resigned in a body, because they were too proud to serve under an ex-tailor, did I not unhesitatingly accept all their posts at once?"
PISH-TUSH: "And all their salaries attached to them? You did."
This is a picture of the Titipu Town Council expressing their displeasure as Pish-Tush presents Koko to them. If you look carefully, you'll see Pooh-Bah at the right, acting very unconcerned.

KOKO: "Allow me to present you, Pooh-Bah. These are my three wards. The one in the middle is my bride elect."
This picture is one of my favorites, although Koko actually seems to be addressing Pish-Tush. I like Pooh-Bah's fan in particular, and you'll notice Nanki-Poo in the background, with a long face and a dog companion.

MIKADO: "That's the slovenly way in which these Acts are always drawn. However, cheer up, it'll be all right. I'll have it altered next session. Now, let's see about your execution--will after luncheon suit you? Can you wait until then?"
POOH-BAH: "I don't want any lunch."
This funny picture speaks for itself.

There is no actual caption for this one, but it was meant to accompany the song, "Titwillow"..
