This is an inspiring film, the story of Hari (Sanjeev Kumar) and Arti (Jaya Bhaduri), whose world is silent, soundless but not soulless. Though deaf and dumb they are able to communicate their feelings for each other and get married. But their Koshish (attempt) to be normal is shattered when their son (Amit) callously refuses to marry a girl because she is dead and dumb. Hari and Arti are distressed beyond end by his failure to pass the test of being their dutiful son. After much soul searching, Amit realizes his shortcomings and to make amends, agrees to marry the girl. The Macc Lads - Come To Brum, at Woolworths
Who would ever have believed that four filthy mouthed, hooligan punks from the quiet North West English town of Macclesfield would become the most notorious band of the 1980s UK rock scene. But that is exactly what happened. From hooligan dolites to degenerate superstars of punk rock in one disgustingly foul swoop. The Macc Lads assaulted the concert rooms of Britain, fuelled by inhuman amounts of Boddingtons bitter and countless horny rock chicks. It was rock n roll, but not as we know it! The DVD features two epic gigs by the Macc Lads, playing to sell-out crowds in England's first and second cities. By the late eighties the lads had left their pub rock beginning way behind and were now packing them in like no other band around. Profane and prolific in equal proportions they went from strength to strength, offending and entertaining the masses as they rampaged across the UK with their beer swilling phlegm-filled entourage in tow. Not only does the video feature the band live at Birmingham's prestigious Goldwyns Suite in 1988 and the legendary Fulham Greyhound in 1987, it also contains several commercials, shot by the Jettisoundz Video team for reasons unbeknown, except that maybe everyone involved had had a little too much pop. Good clean filthy fun!

Inspired by the 1950 visit of Isadora Duncan to Russia, Fokine took the timeless music of Frederic Chopin and created Chopiniana (later renamed Les Sylphides). This ballet celebrates the lyrical and poetic qualities of romantic ballet blanc to express the sublime nature of dance. Les Sylphides is one of the revolutionary ballets of the 20th Century. Firstly, to choreograph the works of the great masters, such as Chopin was unheard of. Secondly, there were virtually no abstract, plotless works in the Russian repertoire which was characterized by Petipa's large scale full-length productions. Les Sylphides was premiered for the 1990 Paris season by Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes and features Anna Pavlova and Valsav Niijinsky. Of the many innovative works presented by this great impresario, this was his favourite. The Bolshoi Ballet Company under the direction of their chief choreographer Yuri Grigorvich, is one of the marvels of the ballet world. The word Bolshoi means 'big', which aptly describes this Company of over 200 artists, it's massive teaching staff and a school capable of training 1000 dancers providing a constant flow of new young talent. BOLSHOI SOLOISTS CLASSIQUE: This newly discovered film celebrates the mastery of the great Bolshoi stars, Nina Timofeyeva and Mikhail Lavrosky, who performed in the classic and elegant style of the Soviet ballet tradition. Nina Timofeyeva first trained and performed at the Kirov Ballet, and then entered the Bolshoi Company in 1961 and quickly rose to the leading male dancer in most of their repertory. Lavrosky is known for this exceptional technique, as well as the heroic splender and penetrating presence he brings to all his roles, from the Prince in Cinderella to Spartacus.
