THE WILD RIDE This is fun from star to finish; Jack Nicholson in his second starring role-plays a rebellious punk of the beat generation, who spends his days as an amateur dirt track driver and his nights chasing women and troublemaking. Almost every line of the film has some kind of 'hip slang' of the times, which is hilarious. In the tradition of The Wild One and Rebel Without A Cause Johnny Varon rules his gang with an iron fist, his obsession leads to kidnapping, a high speed chase and ensuing tragedy. STUDS LONIGAN Based on James T Farrell's trilogy, which was banned in many countries for it's gritty portrayal of a group of youths living in the Great Depression era of the 1920's America. It's New Years Eve 1920, Studs Lonigan and friends think they have the world in front of them, when they can't find work there's always the pool hall, the bar and the girls. Studs (Christopher Knight) played with the raw sex appeal of James Dean and the good looks of Marlon Brando has eyes for Lucy but she is taken by a fancier guy, then he loses his best friend and has to deal with the indignity of depression. Jack Nicholson in his fourth film plays a great sidekick in this raw gritty tale of a young man facing a grim and unfriendly world.Things Are Tough All Over. But this is the first time they've appeared on the screen in duel roles. Tommy Chong plays the maniacal Prince Habib, as well as the famous spaced-out wanderer. Richard Cheech Marin is Habib's wily brother Mr. Slyman, in addition to his usual role. Everybody has problems these days, and Cheech and Chong are no exceptions. They're hired by Slyman and Habib to drive a limousine to Las Vegas, with $5 million secretly stashed in the front seat. In order to get there, the pair sell off the car piece by piece, including the seven-figure front seat. Cheech and Chong then have a much bigger problem - Slyman and Habib are after them, swearing to kill them, after the appropiate torture.Horrors Of The Black Museum. Writer and Producer Herman Cohen (I was a Teenage Werewolf) delivers a fantastic 1950s horror complete with high melodrama, bright red blood and terrific black humour! Scotland Yard are chasing a murderer responsible for the deaths of three young women in London, where the killer evidently has no apparent motive but appears to be using the ideas housed in Scotland Yard's Black Museum as the theme for his murders. Edmond Bankroft (Michael Gough) is a popular crime writer who uses his own black museum as the base for his stories. While Scotland Yard is baffled by the seemingly unstoppable murders, Bankroft seems to stay one step ahead of the murderer's every move. Which leads to the question of whether Bankroft's obsession with the murders goes deeper than professional journalism... But as the string of horrifying murders continue, innocent victims are stabbed, electrocuted, boiled and decapitated and Scotland Yard is left to wonder, is the killer right under their nose?
