Sin: the punishment put upon the people of Spira. It is believed by the people of Spira that the reason Sin appeared 1000 years ago durring the time of Zanarkands Distruction is because of the miss use of Machina (Technology). Sins sence of destruction is unbelievable, when Sin has the chance to destroy something it'll take that chance. In the game Sin can be destroyed but after a certain amount of years Sin will reappear continueing it's reckless reign of destruction. Jecht, the father of Tidus is known to be the latest version of Sin and is drawn to the pressence of Tidus. There is quiet a bit of stuff to be known about sin but for the best way of understanding what Sin is and why Sin destroys everything, you'll have to play the game to get that proper understanding.
