In late Ming Dynasty, Ng Sam Kwai betrayed his Emperor and seduced Qing soldiers to invade Mainland China. Lord Chong sent three of his subordinates, i.e. Miu, Fan and Tin to seek assistance from his colleagues. Wu stayed with Chung as his body guard. When the three fighters returned, they were unable to find Chung and to their surprise, Wu had become Kwai's guard. They thought that Wu had betrayed Chung for fame and fortune.

However, Wu only wanted Kwai to pay for the vengeance. The misunderstanding among the four fighters inspired hatred and duels among descendants of them. Wu Yat Tao (Felix Wong Yat Wah) is the great grandson of the Wus. TO knows the real fact and wants to disclose it to the descendants of the other three families. However they do not trust each other as they are fighting for the great treasure of Ming Dynasty. At last they are buried in an ice cavern.

Tao leaves a message stating the secret in the cavern and leaves with his lover Long Kim Chau (Maggie Siu Mei Kei). Tin Kwai Lung (Eddie Cheung Siu Fai) tricks Miu Yan Fung (Wan Yeung Ming) so that Tao has a duel with Fung. He poisons their weapons so as to kill them. Tao and Chau become victim of his dirty plot. Before Chau dies, she asks the loyal servant Ping (Liu Kai Chi) to look after their son Fei (Sunny Chan Kam Hung). They are instructed to look for the truth and avenge Tao and Chau's deaths.

Ping thinks that Fung is the black hand of the plot and he urges Fei to learn martial arts wholeheartedly for his parents. When Fay has grown up, he goes to look for Fung. On the way, he comes across a tramp Yat Yat (Liew Hiu Tung). In fact she is a girl impersonating a boy. They become good friends. Later Fei also meets Fung's daughter Miu Yuk Lan (Charmaine Sheh ) and village girl Lip Song Ching (Joyce Tang Lai Ming). They fall in love with Fei and are trapped in the dilemma...

At last Fung and Fei go to the Snowy Mountain to attend the life-or-death duel. Will this solve the hatred among the four families?
