With one stock market crash after another cause many smooth sailing happy families to be faced with massive changes and for the model couple Sheung Ho Sum (Lawrence Ng) and Yan Sin Mei (Yip Tung) there is no escape from this.

Sum and Mei show happiness to other people but cry when their backs are turned. When their financial situation takes a dive, steadfast and honest Sum and greedy, fortune-seeking Mei each set about their own ways of finding money for their emergency and this devious couple appear to be able to create miracles from nothing and turn around each of their problems! However their plans are foiled by dopey CID Ling (Wong Cheuk Ling) who discovers their fraud plot and reports them to the authorities. At this time, Sum and Mei fall out over their different opinions towards money and as a result their marriage breaks down and they separate. Their charming and playful children Sheung Hei Long (Shing Chin Kuen) and Sheun Hei Ling (Jenny Shing) join together and secretly tell the other parent the news about their parent's trails and actions with the aim of bringing them back together again. Will the two little sprites be able to reunite their mother and father and bring back the peaceful times?
