The head of the Tam Family is Tam Yiu Koon (Kwok Fung) who has been married to Tam Ho Yuk Yee (Liza Wong) for 30 years. They have 3 sons: Tin Chak (Wong Ka Lok), Tin Yan (Joe Ma) and Tin Ping (Mok Ka Yiu). Yuk is the centre of the family, having given her youth to the family and sees her sons and her husband as her eternal wealth. She has guided her three sons through their education and life. All is well for the
family, but for the appearance of Yuk's twin sister Ho Bik Yee (Liza Wong) and
the threat this poses to Yuk's marriage. Yuk lives for her family, but Bik lives
for her art. However in reaching middle age, she has the success of her career
but no love in her life. Bik sees the loving family atmosphere in the Yuk's
life, but resents the fact that they take her for granted, so she takes it on
herself to teach them a lesson, causing havoc to the harmony of the family.
Koon has been a teacher for 30 years but is recently having to take exams for the teacher standards agency. Yuk cannot help him with this trouble but Bik can. Yuk feels that her sister wants to take over her position so she decides to change herself, but Koon finds the new Yuk hard to accept and this leads to humorous results. As for the 3 Tam children,
eldest son Tin Chak has no problems with exams at school, but has major problems
in dealing with life's examinations. As a result, he has been at university for
10 years, remaining a student to avoid having to work. Youngest son Tin Ping is
very afraid of exams, panicking and failing each time. Tin Yan is an honest boy
who works hard, but was accused of cheating in his youth and was worried about
his fathers illness so he left school and started to work in a garage part
Yan gets promoted to supervisor at the garage and completes his engineer diploma after 10 years. He thinks he can be promoted with this qualification but then he finds that the newly appointed manager is the girl who accused him of cheating all those years ago, Ko Ka Lei (Maggie Cheung). Thus starts a series of old enemies’ quarrels in the company..... |
