Shum Hok Yee (Kenix Kwok) left her university course in her second year, against the wishes of her father, to marry a rich man. In the early days of the marriage, Yee feels like she is a fairy tale princess living in a palace - that is until she finds that her husband is having an affair. It turns out that her castle is built from sand and as the waves crash down, all is left in ruins. Yee develops post-natal depression and divorces her husband, losing custody of her child to the father. Luckily, she has the support of her good friend Yip Heung Fai (Stephen Au) and becomes a legal executive in a law firm. Working during the day and continuing her studies at night, Yee works hard for a day when she can be with her son again. As her life starts to stabilize, she meets the solicitor who lost her her child, Ko Chi Long (Hacken Lee).

Long was the representative for Yee's ex-husband in the custody battle and also has become her new boss. Long doesn't remember Yee, but Yee shows him much resentment, causing some puzzlement from Long. Yee and Long's misunderstandings create opportunities for them to find out about each other and hatred eventually turns to love. When the two finally start a relationship, Yee's son suddenly returns. Will Yee be able to regain custody of her son from her husband? Can Yee and Long overcome all these difficulties?
