Gina Torres stars as Hel, the beautiful and strong leader of a Voice team. At an early age Hel lost her father to the evil mutant Creegan. That tragedy turned Hel into a freedom fighter bent on retaking Earth’s surface from the evil Baileys.
Torres is best-known to most Renaissance Pictures fans for her role as Nebula during a number of episodes of “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” during its fourth and fifth seasons. Following “Cleopatra 2525", Torres would get a recurring role on the ABC series “Alias” during its first season. Her television work would continue with a starring role in Joss Weadon’s “Firefly” on Fox. Torres co-starred with her husband, Laurence Fishburne, in “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions” in 2003. In 2005, she would return to her “Firefly” role for the feature film “Serenity”.
Canadian fitness model and actress Victoria Pratt stars as Sarge. Sarge is quick, agile, and tough. She is also very flirtatious when it comes to handsome men. Sarge has a darker past. Before she joined Hel’s Voice team she was a member of the thugish Black Watch. It was the fact that Hel once saved her that made Sarge switch sides.
Following her role on “Cleopatra 2525", Pratt went on to star as Shalimar Fox, a feral mutant, for all three seasons of the scifi/action hour “Mutant X”. Before “Cleopatra 2525", Pratt had a recurring role on the Canadian series “John Woo's Once a Thief”, which made its U.S. syndication debut during the fall 2002 season. Pratt is married to fellow Canadian T.J. Scott, who co-wrote and directed several episodes of “Cleopatra 2525".
Former dancer/stripper Cleopatra is a true underdog. She wakes up many years from her own into a world so unlike the one she's from. Despite all the changes, Cleopatra eventually adjusts to life in the Underground as a member of Hel’s Voice team. She even teaches her new friends a little bit about the “old ways”.
The role of Cleopatra was portrayed by American actress Jennifer Sky. Sky’s claim to fame for many genre fans was as the feisty Amazon warrior Amarice on “Xena: Warrior Princess” during several episodes of its fourth and fifth seasons. She also appeared on the short-lived Fox series “Fastlane”.
New Zealand actor Patrick Kake portrays the role of Mauser. Mauser is a robot -- a Betrayer to be more specific. His purpose after being cloned from his human form was to work with other Betrayers to enslave the Underground so that the Baileys would have domain over everything. Thankfully, Hel and Sarge were able to get their hands on him for some serious reprogramming. He’s now part of the team. Mauser normally helps out around the lab, making unique gizmos and gadgets for the girl’s to have on their missions. He wants to be sure that Hel, Sarge, and Cleopatra are prepared for anything his former colleagues dish out.
Joel Tobeck portrays the evil mutant Creegan. He fits into the grand scheme of the Baileys’ core mission more than Hel and her team ever thought. Tobeck's portrayal of Creegan is the exact opposite of his comedic roles as Deimos and Strife on “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys”, “Xena: Warrior Princess”, and “Young Hercules”. Creegan is dark, manipulative, and cunning.
Danielle Cormack portrays a sexy psychopath called Raina. Although she has a murderous mind, and just so happens to be a telepath that can read and control others’ thoughts, Raina isn't one of those over-the-top whackjobs that try to rule the world for kicks. She knows exactly what she wants and will use her powers, mixed with her feminine charms, to get it. Cormack's portrayal of Raina is far from her role as the honorable Amazon Ephiny on “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” and “Xena: Warrior Princess”.
Elizabeth Hawthorne supplies the voice for the mysterious female commander simply known as Voice. She guides the team on their missions through a chip implanted in Hel. Voice fits much deeper into the overall story, having many secrets of her own. Some think she might be as evil as Creegan. Elizabeth Hawthorne is a long timer to many Renaissance Pictures fans. She has appeared in many roles on both “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” and “Xena: Warrior Princess”. She also provided the voice of Hera during many episodes of “Young Hercules”. Hawthorne stepped out from behind the microphone and onto the stage in the final episode of “Cleopatra 2525" to appear as Voice in the flesh. The role of Voice was originally meant for “Xena: Warrior Princess” star Lucy Lawless, but due to the busy schedule on her show she was unable to fulfill the commitment.
