Hercules: The Legendary Journeys

For Those of You Just Joining Us

B.S. Hollinsfoffer (Robert Trebor), the head of the studio, is preparing to fire some of the staff. Tired of the recent Hercules plots that rely heavily on the use of farm animals, B.S. tells Executive Producer Rob Tapert (Bruce Campbell) that he better come up with some good ideas by the end of the week or the show will be canceled. Rob orders all the producers and writers to a retreat at the rundown Camp Wannachuck. Upon arrival, they are greeted by the ultra-perky Sunny Day (Renee O'Connor) and the morbid Norma Bates (Tamara Gorski).

While en route to meet the others at the retreat, Kevin Sorbo (Kevin Sorbo) is unexpectedly visited by his half brother, Ares (Kevin Smith). Ares ponders how long Kevin will be able to keep the fact that he is Hercules a secret. When Kevin asks Ares what he wants, Ares answers simply -- merchandising rights.

Kevin arrives at the camp to find that the writers are planning to kill Iolaus (Michael Hurst)...again. Since Kevin knows that Iolaus actually lived to be 100, he proposes to the writers an idea for how to allow Iolaus to have the noble death he would deserve. Rob is excited about Kevin's idea and the group heads to lunch. Someone poisons the food and Kevin breaks the table in half to stop everyone from eating. As Kevin keeps offering the bickering writers touching stories about Hercules, there is a second attempt on their lives when they are locked in a steam room. Kevin distracts the group and discreetly knocks down the door.

Satisfied with the story ideas Kevin has offered, Rob decrees that they have enough material for the new season. Suddenly, Sunny Day appears with a gun and marches everyone into an abandoned mine. Sunny prepares to shoot everyone in the group when she is distracted by Norma. As the two women struggle, Kevin saves the writers from a cave-in. Back outside, Norma reveals herself as a undercover agent from studio security. In the meantime, Kevin removes Sunny's disguise to reveal B.S. Hollinsfoffer. The studio head explains that he was working for Ares in return for his own network. Ares suddenly materializes and informs B.S. that he will never work in entertainment again. The writers realize that the god of war exists and wonder if he would be interested in a series on his own. Considering that the gods do exist, Rob ponders the possibility that there might be a real Hercules.
