Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) is attempting to show Iolaus 2 (Michael Hurst) some basic fighting maneuvers, but Iolaus is distracted by a young couple in love. Suddenly, Aphrodite (Alexandra Tydings) appears and tells Hercules about the mudslide that is about to demolish Tribera. Hercules takes off to save the village, leaving Iolaus to practice his sparring drills. Meanwhile in Triton's (Bruce Hopkins) cove, the patriarch of the seven seas and his mermaid daughter, Nautica (Angela Dotchin), argue about Nautica's proposed arranged marriage. Nautica wants to see the world, but Triton tries to explain that her place is with the family. Nautica swims away and is approached by Discord (Meighan Desmond), who offers to help the mermaid get out of her predicament by giving her legs. Later, Nautica stumbles along a beach testing out her new legs. Discord watches the awkward display and warns Nautica that her tail will reappear if she gets wet. Nautica walks off with her newfound freedom as Discord flashes a wicked grin.
Meanwhile, Iolaus and Aphrodite walk through a fish market in a seaside village and come across some thugs harassing merchants for property taxes for their master, Brutus (Hori Ahipene). One of the merchants recognizes Iolaus and begs him to help. Iolaus' initial reaction is to run, but with a little help from Aphrodite, he defeats the thugs. Amid all the confusion, Nautica shows up and immediately falls in love with the brave Iolaus. Iolaus, troubled that he was unable to defeat the goons on his own, retreats to a bluff overlooking the sea and Nautica follows. When Iolaus sees her, it's love at first sight. They return to town and Iolaus is thrilled to learn that Aphrodite is not responsible for Nautica falling in love with him. Unfortunately, he realizes that Nautica loves him because she believes that he is the bravest man in the world. Meanwhile, Triton summons Aphrodite to his cove and tells her that his daughter ran away.
Aphrodite shows little concern at first, but learns that Triton's daughter is Nautica. Triton explains that Poseidon gifted Nautica with a heart so pure it warms the seas and if she does not return home by sunset, the waters of Greece will turn to ice. Aphrodite tells Triton she knows where his daughter is and deduces that Discord gave this special mermaid her new legs.
As Aphrodite tells Iolaus the truth about Nautica, Brutus captures the errant mermaid. After a brief dispute, Iolaus and Aphrodite team up to rescue Nautica. The two go to Brutus' den, where they find Nautica tied to a table. Enraged, Iolaus battles Brutus and this goons, while Aphrodite takes care of Discord. In the middle of the fight, water is thrown on Nautica and her tail reappears. Realizing that time is running out, Iolaus defeats Brutus and his henchmen, while Aphrodite chases off Discord. Returning to the beach, Iolaus realizes that Nautica must return to her home and the two share a last kiss before the mermaid swims out to sea.
Iolaus 2 pulls all his courage together to rescue Nautica, while Aphrodite has a catfight with Discord. Sadly, Iolaus 2 has to bid goodbye to his true love. Later, when Hercules returns, he is shocked by how positive and uplifted his new friend has become in the last day. Iolaus 2 learns that, as it turns out, the mudslide missed Thrace completely and Hercules spent his entire day signing autographs.
