Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) and Iolaus 2 (Michael Hurst) are enjoying breakfast one morning as Deimos (Joel Tobeck), god of terror, plots their demise. Deimos is planning to become Ares' (Kevin Smith) second in command, much to Discord's (Meighan Desmond) chagrin. Hearing a yell, Hercules and Iolaus approach a village to find townspeople, led by Marcus (Andrew Binns), hurling rocks at a hooded teenager. When Hercules rescues the boy, his hood falls back to reveal that the teen's face is fading from view.
Hercules and Iolaus enter the seemingly empty town and find a dozen fading villagers hiding in the meeting hall. Hercules, suspecting that the food supply is being contaminated, sends Iolaus to investigate. Meanwhile, Hercules tries to calm Marcus and his thugs, who are becoming a panicked mob under the influence of a disguised Deimos. Iolaus inspects the food storehouse and, with the help of a disguised Discord, finds a glowing stone that looks like an eye. When Iolaus shows his discovery to Hercules, he recognizes it as the Rock of Arges. Arges was a Cyclops who rebelled with his two brothers against Zeus. Zeus turned their eyes to stone, and these stones are now cursed. People in contact with them begin to disappear and the only way to break the spell is to smash the rock. Unfortunately, the curse then transfers to whomever broke the stone. Knowing that time is short for the villagers, Hercules crushes the Eye.
Iolaus fears for his fading friend and worries he will not be able to be brave without him. Meanwhile, Ares, Deimos and Discord celebrate the fact that Hercules will soon fade out of existence. Discord becomes annoyed, however, when Deimos takes the credit for destroying Hercules. Ares notices that Hercules, through sheer force of will, is still visible, and he sends Deimos to complete the task. Discord sees this as an opportunity for revenge. She decides to help lead Iolaus and the now invisible Hercules to the location of the remaining two stones, which will be needed to break the spell. Meanwhile, Deimos has set Marcus and his friends on their trail. Hercules finds the stones as Marcus attacks. Discord hands Deimos one of the stones, and then slugs him so he drops it. The stone shatters and Deimos fades, but manages to grab Discord and take her with him. Restored, Hercules fights off Marcus and then faces an attack from Ares. Ares begins throwing rocks at Herc, and Iolaus kindly hands the god of war a rock to use. Ares throws the last Rock of Arges, which shatters. Ares is sucked into oblivion, while Discord and Deimos are released from the curse. Relieved to have his friend back, Iolaus realizes that he can be courageous.
