Jack and Emilia meet with Croque and Brogard regarding the opening of Pulau Pulau's horse racetrack. Croque takes them out to his stables to show them the horse he intends to race in the upcoming derby, but they find Katherine the Great, the Empress of Russia, in the stall. She tells them that White Russian, her white-colored champion horse has been stolen and she's been told that the thieves were headed for Pulau Pulau. Katherine informs Croque that her entire fleet has surrounded the island and that everyone on Pulau Pulau will die unless her horse is returned within 24 hours.

Later, Jack and Emilia mill about the racetrack and Emilia thinks it's rather peculiar that Croque opened up the track at the same time Katherine's horse disappeared. Jack convinces the reluctant Emilia to place a bet on just one race, but Emilia becomes hooked and they keep playing and winning. That night, Emilia arrives at Croque's mansion dripping in jewels and Jack is wearing a new suit. They go to Croque's stables and find that Croque has painted brown spots on Katherine's horse. They decide to steal the horse in the morning before the derby and return it to Katherine anonymously.

The following day, Jack and Emilia go to the track and decide to bet on one last race. Emilia puts up everything she owns and her horse loses. Later, Jack and Emilia decide to paint Katherine's horse a different color and enter it in the derby to try and win all their money back.

Emilia volunteers to put all her riding lessons to work and throws on some jockey silks. The derby begins and Croque tells Jack that he's rigged the race. Fearing for Emilia's safety, Jack excuses himself and dons the guise of the Dragoon. He explodes onto the track riding Nutcracker and catches up to Emilia, who's being cornered by the other jockeys. Jack holds off the evil jockeys and Emilia takes off to win the race. She continues to ride off the track and White Russian is later reunited with an ecstatic Katherine, who returns to Russia.
