Jack and Emilia descend down a shaft in a deserted temple to look for the Silver Monkey statue, a priceless artifact of the Wallawalla Bing Bang tribe that King George wants to display in the British Museum. They reach the treasure chamber and Emilia notices that the entire room is booby-trapped with primitive lasers. She carefully makes her way over to the Silver Monkey and lifts the statue off the pedestal, which triggers acid to pour from the chamber walls. Jack and Emilia escape by climbing back up the shaft with the aid of suction cups. They return to Emilia's house and Jack receives a message from President Jefferson that says the Silver Monkey must be sent to the Smithsonian immediately....

Jack and Emilia squabble over who gets the statue and Jack bets Emilia that if he beats her to the punch and sends the Silver Monkey to America, she'll be his servant for a month. Emilia agrees, and when Jack turns his back, she takes off running with the statue. Jack catches up with Emilia at Governor Croque's mansion and Croque announces that the Silver Monkey is the property of the French Empire and the thief who has it will be shot on sight. Later, Jack and Emilia continue to wrestle over the statue. Their match rolls out into the street and a mysterious man tries to kill them when they have possession of the monkey. The man disappears and Croque finds Jack and Emilia with the statue and orders them to be shot...

Jack and Emilia tell Croque and Brogard that the Daring Dragoon is the real culprit and that he broke into their home and forced them to take the Silver Monkey. Croque believes them and spares their lives, but says the Silver Monkey will be melted down and sold in pieces. Later, Jack and Emilia are attacked again by the mystery man. They catch the cloaked figure and learn that he is Wiranto, a member of the Wallawalla Bing Bangs....

He says the rumor of his tribe being extinct was spread to conceal their hiding after the French occupied the island and that Jack and Emilia have been sentenced to death unless they return the Silver Monkey. Later, Emilia enters the blacksmith's shop just as the statue is about to be melted and Jack, disguised as the Dragoon, bursts in. He fights off Brogard's men, grabs the statue, and disappears. Emilia makes replicas of the Silver Monkey to send to England and the U.S. and Wiranto returns the original statue to his people.
