Jack of all Trades

Seventy Brides for One Brother

Governor Croque is holding a banquet in honor of the deal he has procured with a famous Sultan. Jack and Emilia are invited as Croque's honored guests. After the Sultan becomes smitten with Emilia, he has her kidnapped and taken to his private resort on the island. She has become the latest addition to his harem! After being dressed in a sari, Emilia is given the nickname of Sunflower to be identified by. The British beauty objects to the awful way the Sultan treats his wives. In order to rescue his partner, Jack talks with one of the Sultan's men about getting a job at the resort. It turns out the Sultan needs more harem guards, but all of them are forced to have their "manhood" removed so they aren't "tempted" to mess with his wives. Jack “emotionally” explains how his was already taken off during an explosion. The sympathetic guard takes his word for it, hiring him without an examination.

It doesn’t take long for Jack to find Emilia, who has just learned from a game of spin-the-bottle that she has been chosen to mate with the Sultan that night. Jack has formed an escape plan, however, Emilia won't leave without the other wives. The Sultan’s first wife Iris catches the two plotting. She calls for the harem guards. Jack avoids capture with an Aladdin-like leap out the window, but Emilia isn't so lucky. The Sultan orders her execution to take place at dawn after she refuses to mate with him to regain his favor. During the night, Iris brings Emilia her last meal. Emilia tries to persuade Iris to see what a rotten person the Sultan is. Iris admits that she loved him when they first got married, but she hasn't felt that way since. Nonetheless, she refuses to do anything about it. Later on, Jack shows up outside the steel-barred window to discuss an escape plan with his partner.

The next day, as Emilia is about to be beheaded, Iris proclaims that her real name is Sheba. She admits that she is sick of the way the Sultan treats her. Followed by the rest of the wives, she denounces him as her husband. Meanwhile, the Dragoon breaks into Croque's mansion to snatch the contract that was signed by both the Sultan and the Governor. Brogard and his men chase him all the way to the resort, where the Dragoon acts chummy with the Sultan. Brogard thinks the Sultan has betrayed his new alliance with the French in favor of one with the Daring Dragoon. As the Sultan’s men and Brogard’s soldiers fight it out, Sheba and the other women escape to their new-found freedom. Later, Jack presents Emilia with a necklace to commemorate their six months together as a team.
