Read about the main characters of the epic story. The heroes that fight evil. The evil they fight. Not to forget some of the existence in between. Read the basics on them here.
The heroic Sinbad has been through much since returning home four years ago. Although he still doesn't know about what took place to him in his years away from the known world, he knows his future is unwritten, and waiting to be filled. Being captain hasn't been easy as Sinbad has suffered much, and had to make plenty of tough choices. He has dedicated his beard to his brother, wanting to look like the man that he most admires. His sword is still ready, but he has relearned to use his heart and head before using it. His last couple years of encounters have been filled with danger, torment, adventure, and plenty more. He has made new friends in fellow heroes such as Aladdin, Conor and Nessa, and the Phoenix Warrior Maria. He has battled Scratch's evil, and the return of Turok and Rumina. His friendship and relationship with his crew has grown. He considers them as close as family...even more now than in the past.
One of Sinbad's most dangerous challenges during the fan fiction third season was challenging the powers of Rumina, while searching for the keys to Dreamscape - an out of the world realm where Rumina trapped the long-time friend and mentor of Sinbad and Doubar. Only when his crew and him found all the keys, did they finally get a chance. But Dim-Dim did not return, as he had to keep Turok and Rumina from plotting their escape once they were sent into Dreamscape. Sinbad understood his friend's wishes, as he knows in his heart that he will know when to free Dim-Dim from the realm. Now that both father and daughter are free again, however, that time will surely soon be at hand.
As the fan fiction fifth season began, Sinbad was kidnaped and lied to by a lonesome, but dangerous couple who thought him their long lost son. Though Sinbad eventually discovered the truth, in his heart, the wounds of never being able to get to know his real parents were reopened.
Perhaps the greatest challenge for Sinbad lately, however, was Julius Faarooq. Scratch's chosen warrior, who was chosen to lead his dark army in getting a talon-hold on the far east. So-far this challenge has taken the brave captain where he has never gone before, and the final battle between these two isn't far off.
The big brother and protector of Sinbad, Doubar seems to always get his chance to crack some skulls every season, though tougher opponents he will have every time. Doubar's strength not only comes from his large size, but also from his big heart. In the fan fiction third season, the big brother of Sinbad had to look out for all crewmates. He also had many touching moments with his brother, Sinbad.
In a traumatic situation, Sinbad was beaten to near death in a battle against Burrel and his thieves. Doubar sat beside his brother, remembering their adventures with Aidan. In the crew's voyage to Pemba, Doubar was presumed killed by the evil Persian god of war Indar, however, Doubar woke up seconds later, refreshed with new life and wearing a rainbow bracelet. A true bond between brothers!
"She is part of the one," is the best way to summarize the character of Bryn.
Long ago, Bryn and her mother, Bri, were destroyed by Rumina, although Bryn somehow wound up on a mysterious island, where she eventually met Sinbad, and joined his crew.
As it turns out, Bryn is the daughter of Bri and the evil sorcerer Turok. Although Turok cares for Bryn, he also cares for his evil daughter, Rumina, whom has promised to make Bryn's life a living hell. Turok is stuck between love of family and lust for power. Turok promised Bryn, after the encounter in which Bryn learned she was his daughter, that next time the crew met him, he would forget she was his daughter. Next time Turok and Rumina met the crew, sure enough Turok seemed to forget, even though some humanity remained inside.
Knowing that father Turok and evil sister Rumina are both once again free from Dreamscape, Bryn's battle with both has taken strange turns. For a time, while the crew protected Rumina's child, it seemed Rumina and her were almost ready to make amends. But that isn't the case any longer, and Turok doesn't seem to care much if Bryn lives or dies at the moment.
Since joining the crew, Bryn has better learnt to use her gift of elemental magic, creating small tornados and even a mini-earthquake during one recent adventure. Bryn also has telepathic powers, which allow her to connect with animals and creatures.
Bryn has formed special bonds with both Sinbad and Maeve. With Sinbad it's a bond of destiny, bound by the rainbow bracelets both wear. A bond which brings the two together to fight the forces of darkness and walk through the toughest of times together. With Maeve it's a bond of friendship, which has brought both women through many tough times. Each facing their own past alone, but watching each others back at the same time. A sister-like bond.
One could say that Bryn's greatest gift is her strength. It has helped many find the strength within themselves, and helped her become the person she was destined to become.
The daughter of a pig farmer, the Celt Maeve grew up in Eire with her younger brother, Dermott. Their parents were killed when they were young. A woman named Dana raised the two. They shared a close friendship with Diedre and Miach, who were two other youngsters in their village.
When Maeve was a teenager, a younger Rumina approached her after Maeve stopped Rumina from enslaving several young men. Rumina was angry. She was used to getting what she wanted. Maeve was a firebrand. Rumina thought it would be better to punish Maeve for the rest of her life, instead of just killing her. Thus Rumina soon turned Dermott into a hawk.
The Celt woman would have to master white magic so she could defeat Rumina and free her brother from eternal life as a hawk. The firebrand went south to where Rumina made her permanent home. Dim-Dim, a wise old magician, agreed to teach Maeve about magic, and life.
When Maeve first joined the crew of The Nomad, she was hesitant and quite the fire brand. After learning the hard way what her distrust and debts caused her friends, she changed. She learned to grow up, and trust.
If there ever was someone who brings a bit of ‘camp’ to The Nomad crew, it's gotta be the wily inventor, Firouz. The inventor has never seen a need for magic, especially after magical forces killed his family and uncle, allowing the evil alchemist Egan to grip him under his control. Although Firouz was saved from Egan, thanks to Dim-Dim, he does not know that Egan killed his family. Yet, his distrust in magic, and interest in science remained.
Firouz likes to invent stuff, and he has invented many interesting contraptions. Some are useful gadgets for the crew’s adventures, while some are just toys. Even weapons, when needed. Things such as the world’s first bicycle, the hanging glider, a ruby beamer, a large multi-arrow shooting crossbow, the knife proof vest, bug traps, telescopes, the world's first bazooka, star gazers, and much more. Although his past was extremely sad and depressing, his future was bright and promising.
These past two seasons, Firouz encountered ‘demons’ twice. The first time the inventor was again haunted by the evil Egan, and the second saw Bakbuk's remains form into a demon doll that possessed Firouz, forcing Sinbad and crew to find an exorcist that could drive Bakbuk's evil from the inventor. The inventor also has a love interest, Velda, who is a physician like himself.
Firouz also has a vast knowledge of history and mythology, which has proved to be helpful to the crew on more than a few occasions.
The tongueless moor, Rongar, suffered much during his life, but his place aboard Sinbad's crew gave his life a new meaning. During the second season, Rongar defeated Ali Rashid. He was the man who hurt Rongar's sister Zorah, took Rongar's tongue, and banished Rongar from the throne of Bollnah. Rongar further explained the worst memories of his past during the fan fiction third season, when a healer named Sariya was able to heal his tongue.
Although his recalling of his past, including how Mustapha fit into the story of Ali Rashid and Bollnah, was told, once Scratch and his demons were successful in killing Sariya, the moor lost his tongue yet again, and also a woman he fell in love with.
Rongar's loyalty and friendship to each crewmate has been important for the past four years, and will continue to be in the remaining episodes.
Cursed to live as a hawk forever until Rumina breaks her grasp over him, or she dies, the fearless Dermott has been a powerful asset to the crew, even in his cursed state. His gift of flight can take a message, or even a magical egg to places no mortal man or woman could go to as fast as him. Both Bryn and Maeve share special bonds with Dermott. He is a good friend to Bryn, and of course a brother to Maeve.
The wicked and powerful Rumina made a crashing return during the fan fiction third season. Even if her hold over Maeve did not succeed, as the crew were able to break their old friend away from the curse, Rumina released Dim-Dim from the invisible prison that he was held in and sent him into the realm of Dreamscape. While his body remains on earth, sleeping, his soul wanders through another realm.
Although Rumina's battle with Maeve had stayed in tact, Rumina had found a new arch-rival in her sister, Bryn. Rumina has promised to make Bryn's life a living hell. Ever since both Bryn and Maeve played a part in the death of Rumina's mentor, the evil sorceress Gwyar, the battle between good magic and dark magic has intensified, putting all in its path in grave danger.
Living for centuries has been Strocker's life. He's an immortal. In his time on earth, Strocker has mastered many forms of fighting. The only form of defense, or offense he never learned was magic - the dark powers to be exact. That is why he sought out Rumina.
The east's most power and evil sorcerer, Turok has been at the top of every heroes hit list. Sinbad beheaded Turok when they first met, but thanks to some unholy assistance from Scratch, the sorcerer arose from the dead, so he and his wicked daughter, Rumina, could once again terrorize the world. But in his resurrection the sorcerer also learned his other daughter, Bryn, was still alive, and because of it he found a speck of humanity he had previously lost. Although Turok has shown feelings for his good daughter, his wicked daughter also has his affection. Only time will tell if Turok's love or lust will prevail.
Robis was a young ambitious man from Baghdad, who gave up on light magic when it became too hard for him to learn. Robis' apprenticeship with Dim-Dim taught him much but Robis' ambition was his undoing, as soon Robis joined Turok to learn black magic.
The cunning Robis learnt dark powers, formed a relationship with Rumina, and was given a choice once he had been taught much by Turok. His given job was to kill Dim-Dim, who Turok holds responsible for the banning of black magic from Baghdad, as does Robis, who also blamed Sinbad. Because Robis had a spec of humanity in him, he couldn't kill Dim-Dim. Rumina gave him a parting blow. Robis escaped with his life, some magic such as concealment and some knowledge, and Rumina's parting blow - a line of scars on his left cheek. Robis now resides in Karakas.
Very silent and mysterious, always knowing more than he can tell, even if never involved in the things, Robis will never say unless he gets something from the deal. Just think of him as your unfriendly used car salesman...before cars existed. Sinbad and crew had to rely on Robis for information a few times in the past.
