Daily Planet gossip reporter Linda Lake uses her column to destroy people’s lives. She also drowns some of them with her kryptonite enhanced ability to turn into liquid. After Lake overhears Lana tell Chloe that she is having a hard time excepting Lex’s marriage proposal because she still has feelings for Clark, she prints their conversation in her column. Clark decides to go to Lex’s mansion and come clean with Lana. Lex informs Clark that Lana is out at the moment, and she will marry him no matter what since she is pregnant with his child. Despite what he tells Clark, Lex is concerned that Lana might be cheating on him. He goes to Lake and asks her to dig up any dirt she can on Clark. Lake breaks into Chloe’s apartment and overhears her have a conversation with Clark in which the fact he’s an alien is brought up.

Chloe discovers that it was Lake who overheard her conversation with Lana. Chloe and Lana devise a plan to get a bit of revenge on Lake. Chloe breaks into Lake’s office to hack into her computer. Lake catches her in the act just as Chloe uncovers Lake’s next article, which reveals that Clark is an alien. Chloe smashes Lake’s computer so she won’t be able to publish the article. Lake chases after Chloe, hoping to kill her before she can expose her for the villain she really is. After a brief catfight, Chloe inadvertently flips Lake into Lana’s oncoming vehicle. As Lake hits the vehicle, she turns to a puddle of liquid. Unbeknownst to Chloe and Lana, the liquid trickles down into a nearby sewer.

In her quest to find out the true identity of the Green Arrow, Lois buys several photographs that Jimmy Olsen got of the masked vigilante. One of them is of a scar that is the same exact scar Lois saw on her boyfriend, Oliver Queen. Suspecting that Oliver is the Green Arrow, Lois asks Clark to help her prove her theory correct. Clark warns Oliver and the two devise a plan to keep Lois from finding out Oliver’s secret identity. Clark dresses up as the Green Arrow and rescues Lois from a gang of thugs. He then happily plants a big kiss on her. Just as the two come apart, Oliver shows up. Lois no longer suspects her boyfriend is the Green Arrow.

In the end, Clark discovers that he wasn’t the only one who enjoyed kissing Lois. Lois considers Oliver a good kisser, but thinks “Green Arrow” is a better one. Lana goes to the Kent farm to make peace with Clark. Clark tells Lana that Lex told him she was pregnant. Though it breaks his heart to do so, Clark also tells Lana that he hopes Lex makes her happy. Although Lana will always love both Clark and Lex, she decides she will marry Lex since he doesn’t hide his true nature from her like Clark does.
