Logline: Sinbad faces the Minotaur to restore an island to its rightful rule.
Synopsis:
Sinbad and crew’s picnic lunch on the island of Alecion is ambushed by a scuffle between Garrik’s soldiers and a ragtag bunch known as the Outsiders. While assisting the Outsiders, Sinbad’s crew are arrested as co-conspirators. Sinbad manages to evade capture thanks to an Outsider woman named Ula. She brings Sinbad to an encampment where Schwind and the other remaining Outsiders plot to retake the island from the evil Garrik. Sinbad becomes greatly concerned when he learns Garrik will sacrifice his crew to the ferocious Minotaur he keeps in a labyrinth beneath his palace. The only way to defeat this beast is to strike it dead with Poseidon’s ax. Sinbad goes to a nearby lake to try and summon the axe’s guardian.
As his fingertips touch the water the sea goddess Amphitrite emerges. She tells him that he can have the axe if he passes her test. If he fails he dies. She demonstrates her power by disintegrating a group of Garrik's charging men. Amphitrite tells Sinbad that he must undo the knot of her sash. He tries to untie the knot but it only pulls tighter. He slashes the knot in half with his knife. Amphitrite gives him the battle axe and the sash. Both will serve a purpose.
Sinbad finds that Ula is missing and goes to Schwind and the Outsiders for help. They are at first hesitant but meet him on the temple steps where he brandishes the battle axe and demands the right to enter the maze. Garrik appears holding Ula at knifepoint, but allows Sinbad to enter the maze. Sinbad destroys the Minotaur, releases his crew and saves Ula from Garrik.
