Hephaestus is banished to the mortal world because Hera doesn’t welcome him on Mount Olympus. He is stripped of his powers and memory in the process. Meanwhile, a giant named Arges decides to hunt him down for being a better blacksmith than him. Hercules and his friends meet Hephaestus when he falls into the lake they are fishing at. They nickname him Fish.
Arges tracks Hephaestus to Cheiron's academy, where he has sought shelter with his new friends. An encounter with the giant triggers Hephaestus’ memory . Hercules is overjoyed to discover he has a half-brother that doesn't want to kill him. The two work together to defeat Arges. Hercules encourages Hephaestus to return to Olympus and stand up to Hera. He does and is made a god again.
