Young Hercules

Keeping Up With the Jasons

Jason receives a birthday present via carrier. It's a sword that belonged to his late fate, Aeson. He uses it valiantly during Cheiron's Daccuda contest the next day at the academy. The Daccuda contest is a yearly contest held to determine which cadet best represents the ideals of the academy in several skillful exercises. Jealous that Jason outshone him, Hercules asks Hephaestus to make him a superior sword. Not only does Hercules' new retracting sword and shield steal the show during the next round of the Daccuda contest, the sword also breaks Jason's present in half. During the same contest, Lilith is inadvertently blinded by Iolaus. Although it won't be permanent, she will be without her sight for a few days.

Hercules takes the sword and shield to showoff at Kora's inn. Melotheum and his gang take notice, deciding they want the sword and shield for themselves. Seeing all the trouble the weapons have caused, Hercules decides to dispose of them in Hephaestus' forge. Later, the cadets have to battle Melotheum and his gang when they come to the academy to try and steal the now-destroyed sword and shield. Lilith uses her senses to best several of the gang members. Impressed by her courageous efforts, Cheiron declares her this year's Daccuda. In the end, everything is okay again between Hercules and Jason after Hercules apologies for his jealousy and has Hephaestus reforge Aeson's sword.
