Hercules and Lilith are trapped in a cave when it collapses during their mushroom hunt. Lilith is delirious after being hit. She starts to have nightmares about her late brother that she couldn't save. While Hercules takes a rest after moving several large rocks, Ares shows up and cons the delirious Lilith into giving Hercules a flask of poison water to drink from.
Sensing that things aren't right, Lilith uses "hidden signals" while offering Hercules the drink. Ares thinks Hercules has died, only to find out he was fooled. Hercules battles his half-brother in another epic encounter. Ares loses and takes the rocks blocking the cadets’ way out with him. Hercules and Lilith return to the academy, where the other cadets have prepared a party in Lilith's honor for becoming the new Daccuda. The only cadets not celebrating are Iolaus and Jason, whose fighting over how to prepare the party has worn them out.
