Strife and Discord disguise themselves as Sumerian royalty to present the gift of an egg to Prince Jason of Corinth. Hercules and Iolaus arrive at the royal palace, throwing a ball at the large egg the deities brought with them. The egg turns into a basilisk -- a small turtle-like creature. The cadets befriend the creature, amused and intrigued by it. Things turns deadly when they learn it spits green gook that ignites into flames.
When Ruff accidently sets fires all over Corinth, the people want Jason to hunt the creature down. After they help put the fires out, the cadets are forced to return Ruff to the wilderness for his own safety. Iolaus is especially sad to see the little guy go since they had developed a close bond during their time together.
