The royal advisor Ophistus tells Jason to "get serious" since he will soon be crowned King of Corinth. During a survival game at Cheiron's academy, Jason gets mad that Hercules and Lilith take it as simply a game. Being the future King of Corinth, Jason must take all things seriously now -- especially when they involve strategic maneuvers. Jason decides to head off on a soul-searching quest to the northern province. On this journey, he must protect a town of farmers that are forced to hand over their hard labor to the pirate Daptes.
Jason and the town elder's daughter Pelia hit it off right away. He doesn't tell her he is the Prince of Corinth, just wanting to be plain old Jason at the moment. Jason leads the town against Daptes and his raiders. Hercules and Lilith, who are searching for their friend, arrive with Ophistus and several Corinthian guards to assist them. The guards will take Daptes and his raiders to justice. Jason promises Ophistus he won’t run away again. Finally, Jason tells Pelia the truth. She realizes why he lied to her. After giving him a farewell kiss, Pelia tells him he will make a great leader as he already is one.
