LarryB's 2003 NBA Draft Awards
Winners
- Cleveland-How can you argue with Lebron, and throw in Jason Kapono for good measure.
- Orlando-Their main guy fell in their lap in Reece Gaines, they grabbed a sliding Zaur Pachulia, and they added Keith Bogans via a trade.
- New York-They hardly got booed picking up Sweetney, a sliding Maciej Lampe and a huge prospect in Slavko Vranes.
- Houston-with only one pick and a second rounder at that they were able to take a first round prospect in Malick Badiane.
- Milwaukee-They snatched up T.J. Ford who still has breakout potential and added Szymon Szewczyk.
- Seattle-I like that they stuck to their guns and took their best prospects in Collison and Ridnour.
- Denver-Again how can you argue with Carmelo, who may be ROY.
Losers
- Rick Rickert-Don't you think you should have stayed in school?
- Memphis-How did Boston dupe them into that deal of Troy Bell and Dahntay Jones for Marcus Banks and Kendrick Perkins.
- LA Clippers-They will probably regret not taking Ford or Hinrich.
- Minnesota-The T-Wolves grabbed a high school player when they could have added a few more sure bets. Then we'll throw in Rickert with the second round pick, just to keep his name in the forefront.
- Carl English-We all thought you had a guarantee in the draft.
- Josh Powell-You don't even make the slippery slider award becuz you were not supposed to get drafted anyhow...shoulda stayed in school!
