Talent Tiers
It seems like tiers of talent are becoming more and more evident ast the draft approaches.
- Top Tier: LeBron James, Darko Milicic, Carmelo Anthony
Nothing is going to change about the top three players in the draft. There are rumors that Carmelo will go above Darko if new coach Larry Brown has his way, but the top three are set.
- Second Tier: T.J. Ford, Chris Bosh, Chris Kaman, Maciej Lampe, Dwyane Wade, Mickael Pietrus and Kirk Hinrich.
These players will more than likely go in some order from 4-10. There is still buzz about these guys, and none of them are slipping too much. Lampe and Wade could move up due to Podkolzin's decision to get out of the draft.
- Third Tier: Michael Sweetney, Luke Ridnour, Reece Gaines, Nick Collison, Zarko Cabarkapa, Jarvis Hayes, Sofoklis Schortsianitis, Brian Cook, David West and Aleksandar Pavlovic. They have a solid lock on the first round and teams are hopeful that they can each contribute, more or less right away too. They are very close in talent, interest and hype, so any one of them could be one of the three remaining lottery picks. Some will be disappointed.
- Fourth Tier: Boris Diaw-Riffiod, Leandro Barbosa, Malick Badiane, Carlos Delfino, Zaur Pachulia, Troy Bell, Mario Austin, Troy Bell, Travis Outlaw, Marcus Banks, Jason Kapono, Luke Walton, Josh Howard, Zoran Planinic, James Lang and Dahntay Jones. These are the best of the rest. All holding out hope to hear their name called in the first round, or at least early in the second, but one or two might be surprised and still be left looking for a team after draft day.
