Welcome to the newest feature here at Penney's Place, my awards page. I have found so many wonderful sites on the web deserving of special recognition that I felt I needed to honor them in some way, and this is my means of doing so.

Unlike many other sites, I don't accept applications for an award; I will be giving my awards to sites that I feel deserve them as I come across them. I do, however, have some basic rules about the sites that will win them. which are pretty much the same requirements as most other web sites that offer awards.

First of all, the site must be family friendly, with no adult content. and no hate content. I prefer sites with no pop-ups, but if your content or graphics are outstanding, I will overlook the annoying little things. The site must have working inks, and it can't be links only.

The page must be in English, since that's the only language I speak, unfortunately. I positively HATE coming across a page that is 'under construction'! The page shouldn't be there at all if it's not finished.

The page colors and text colors should be complementary and not cause eye strain trying to read them.

I can understand no right click scripts for images, but sometimes I want to right click on a link to open it in a new window, and a straight 'no right-click' script prevents that. This can be overlooked, however, for sites with written content that is copyrighted by the author.

All of my awards are given for my own personal satisfaction, and in no way require the recipient to display them on their site; it is nice, however, to get an acknowledgement of their receipt. Jaguarwoman, for instance, does not have an awards page on her site, but she was kind enough to e-mail me and let me know that she received the award and was honored to have it. I feel that this is a small bit of common courtesy as taught to me by my very Southern grandmother, and it's a bit of etiquette that everyone should follow.

See, the rules are pretty simple! Now, a little bit more about the awards...

I will be presenting this award to sites made by women who show outstanding strength and courage which they express in someway on their web site.

This award is fairly self explanatory... it's for sites that I find outstanding in design, content, and graphics. In other words, a simply outstanding website.

This award is also self-explanatory. It is for sites that display outstanding beauty in design.

This award is for sites that are so cute that they bring a smile to your face!

This award is for country style sites that show excellence in design.

This award is for sites that have pages promoting American patriotism, an award I decided to give in light of the upcoming anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center Towers.

Hopefully, I'll be giving away a lot of awards and my visitors will soon be finding a list of special websites to visit. I will also be adding more awards to win as time goes by.

Winners!
