My Rasputina Experience in Dallas, Texas (BY ME!!)

Wow! The concert was absolutely FANtastic. I made many observations as well! Dustin and I didn’t think so many people would show up to the show because we read in the past that Rasputina wasn’t hitting fans well down in the south. Anyhow, when I showed up, there were like 100s of people waiting outside the door! It was amazing! They played:

Trench Mouth
Rats
Percy Bass
Wish you were Here
Leechwife
Transylvanian Concubine
Signs of the Zodiac
Hunter's Kiss
My Orphanage
AntiqueHighHeelRedDollShoes
Rock and Roll
The New Zero
Diamond Mind
State Fair
Chipped
Things I'm Gonna Do
Howard Hughes
Fox in the Snow
CrossWalk

I even got to purchase a baby doll T-shit before they ran out. However, I was also disappointed that I didn’t get to meet Melora/Zoe/John and get their autograph. I was so upset because my brother made me leave right after the concert. He said they wouldn’t come back out to do signatures when they did!!!!! grrrrr. *sniff sniff* I do hope they come back to Dallas again one day so I can get it from them in person!

Here are some observations I made at the concert:

Observation #1: So much for Texas conformity. There were many unique looking people there with purple, green, blue, and red hair is the main color. (sorry blondes, you’re now the odd ones out!)

Observation #2: Count of Dallas smokers to be a reliable fog machine. *cough cough*

Observation #3: Head bobbing is a common way to show your support to Rasputina. I on the other hand was so stun that Melora was actually there IN FLESH that I just stood and gazed at the band the whole hour and half.

Observation #4: Melora stares anywhere but the audience most of the time. I can understand why! Not everyone’s face is pretty to look at. I kid! I kid!

Observation #5: Melora only smiled twice in the whole concert (both to zoe) Must be from the late night performance and constant traveling. She was tired.

Observation #6: Zoe needs no sheet music. It’s all in her head, which is why she closes her eyes and moves her head (she’s changing pages in her mind.) hehe. No wonder her sound on the cello is so great.. she’s always tuning with her ear.

Observation #7: John likes taking off his shirt. It’s how he catches chicks AND dudes. Hehe

Observation #8: Being small has it’s up sides, like squeezing and cutting in front of people to get a closer look at the band when 400 people stand in a small room bunched together.

Observation #9: After an hour and half of standing, your knees no longer work!

Observation #10: After the concert, people do not move, making it impossible to get to the door. And after 3 minutes of people yelling in my ear (and me officially believing I have damaged my ear drums) they come out for an encore!
