Bagel 6

1 cup water
1-1/2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups bread flour
1-1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Let the machine knead the dough once, and then let dough rise for 20 minutes only in machine. Even if your cycle runs longer, simply remove dough after 20 minutes and turn off machine. Divide dough into 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and form a circle, pressing ends together. Put bagels on well-greased baking sheet, cover and let rise for 15-20 minutes. Bring 2 inches of water to a slight boil in non-aluminum pan. Lower bagels (3-4 at a time) into water, cooking for about 30 seconds on each side. Drain bagels on towel and sprinkle with topping (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion bits etc). Put on baking sheet and bake in preheated oven at 550F for 8 minutes.
