1/2 cup milk plus 2 Tbsps
3/4 cup heavy cream
3 1/2 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
5 egg yolks
1/3 cup granulated sugar plus 1/2 tablespoon sugar
1/3 cup light brown sugar plus 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
4 bananas, sliced

Preheat oven to 275F. Bring milk and cream mixed together to a boil; add chopped chocolate. Set aside for 5 minutes.

In mixing bowl, beat egg yolks with granulated sugar. While whipping egg mixture, pour in milk, cream and chocolate mixture. Let cool.

Fill six ungreased ramekins with equal amounts of chocolate brulee mixture. Poach in a water bath in oven for about 40 minutes. When creme brulees are set, transfer to a sheet pan; let cool.

To serve:
Decorate top of each with 5 or 6 slices of bananas. Sprinkle with brown sugar; broil until sugar melts and turns golden color.

Makes 6 servings.
