Fruit Cocktail Cake


1 #2 can fruit cocktail including juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix fruit cocktail, vanilla and egg together. Mix the sugar, flour, soda and salt together. Combine the two mixtures and pour into greased 9X9 or 10X10 baking pan. Mix the nuts and the brown sugar together; sprinkly over top of the batter. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. This is good served ala mode or with whipped topping.
