Texas Cake


2 sticks butter
4 tablespoon cocoa
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs (beaten)
1 tsp vanilla

Over mediun heat, add your butter, cocoa and water to a large pan, and bring to boil. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar and flour. In another bowl mix the following: buttermilk, baking soda, eggs and vanilla. Add the butter milk mixture to the sugar mixture and stir well. Add this mixture to the melted butter, stir well.

Pour mixture into a lightly buttered and floured 1 inch jelly roll pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 375. Once your cake is done, make the frosting and pour it on the cake while the cake is still warm.

FROSTING
1 stick butter
6 tablespoon milk
4 tablespoon cocoa
1 lb. confectioners sugar

Add the butter, milk and cocoa to a large saucepan, bring to boil over medium heat. Add the sugar, stir well and continue to boil for another minute.

Pour over cake.
