Wacky Cake


3 C. flour
2 tsp. soda
2 tablespoon vinegar
2 C. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 C. cocoa
1/2 C. vegetable oil
2 C. cold water

Dump all the dry ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Make three wells in the mixture. Put oil in one well and vinegar and vanilla into the other two. Pour the water over all and mix. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35-45 minutes.

We've been baking this cake in our family for years with good results. Set a paper doily on top of it and dust with powdered sugar. When the doily is removed, a pretty pattern is left behind.
