West Virginia Blackberry Cake

1 C. butter
4 eggs
2 C. sugar
3 C. regular flour
1 1/2 C. fresh or frozen blackberries
1 teaspoon of soda
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
1 C. buttermilk
Cream sugar, butter, and eggs. Combine flour, soda, and baking powder; add to mixture alternating with milk. Carefully fold in berries. Bak in large pan or 3 (8 inch) greased and floured pans for 30 minutes in 350 degree oven. Cool on wire rack.
Icing:
1 C. margarine, melted
1 lb. confectioner's sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tbs. cold coffee (more if needed)
Beat together until fluffy. Frost all over.
