Hamburger Noodle Casserole (Hackfleisch-Noodl Auflauf)

2 onions (smallish)
3 + cloves of garlic (I use about 4)
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 lb hamburger
1 lb tomatoes
fresh parsley
1 tablespoon sweet Hungarian paprika
1 tablespoon tomato paste
salt
pepper
1/2 lb egg noodles
salt water
oil
1/3 lb cheese (whatever flavor you like) grated

Boil the paste until it's al dente. In a frying pan, heat the olive oil, add the onions and fry them until translucent. Add the garlic and butter. When garlic is browned, add the hamburger and fry until totally cooked through and totally crumbly. Add the tomatoes, parsley, paprika, and tomato paste, salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for a few minutes while you are buttering a casserole form. After the hamburger mixture has cooked for about 10-15 minutes, you can make the casserole: layer noodles, cheese and sauce mixture, ending with noodles on the top. Place a several tiny slivers of butter on the top to help brown the noodles. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes, or until bubbly and brown on top.
