Boiled Oatmeal Raisin Cookies


2 cups Coca Cola
15 oz raisins
1-1/2 cups vegetable oil
1-3/4 cups sugar
3 eggs, beaten
4 cups flour, sifted
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 cups oatmeal
2 cups nuts
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger
1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

In a large saucepan, gently boil the raisins in Coca Cola, covered for 20 minutes. Add the oil and the sugar. Cool and add the remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes.
