Dutch Almond Triangles

1 cup margarine
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp milk
1/2 cup sliced unblanched almonds

In large bowl, with electric mixer, cream margarine and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. In separate bowl, mix together flour, cinnamon and baking soda. Mix dry ingredients into creamed mixture just until combined. Spread dough in foil lined 13x9 inch baking pan. Brush top with a little milk. Sprinkle with almonds; press into dough. Bake in 350 deg F oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven, let stand 5 minutes. Remove from pan to cutting board. Slice into 2-1/2 inch squares, then cut diagonally to form triangles.

Makes about 30 triangles.
