Delicious Wild Duck

1 wild duck
1 potato, peeled
1/4 to 1/2 tub soft margarine
1/2 envelope dry onion soup mix
Wash duck; dry inside and out. Place potato and 1 teaspoon onion soup mix in duck cavity. Cover outside of duck with margarine. Sprinkle with pepper and coat with remaining soup mix. Place in covered roaster. Add water (about 1/2-inch on bottom of pan) and roast at 300 degrees to 325 degrees for about 3 hours. Remove potato before serving.
