Grilled Bananas
6 bananas
6 slices bacon
toothpicks
Choose bananas which have ripened enough so there is no longer any green on the stem but they are still firm. Cut each banana in half. Cut the bacon in half. Take each half slice of the bacon and gently pull the sides apart to make the slices wider. The piece of bacon will expand until it is almost twice as wide.
Wrap the bacon around the banana and secure with toothpicks. You are trying to have the banana completely wrapped by bacon and there is almost enough bacon to do this. Place on the grill with whatever else you are grilling. The bacon will crisp and the banana will soften. I brush it with any marinade or sauce I am using on anything else.
