Frankfurters and Orange Sauce


1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 1/4 cups orange juice
6 1/2 whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 1/4 tablespoons vinegar
13 ounces frankfurters

Combine first 6 ingredients in a nonreactive saucepan over medium high heat. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly, until almost thickened. Add frankfurters and cook 2 to 3 minutes, until just heated through.

Per serving: 426 calories; 27 grams fat, 57% calories from fat; 46 milligrams cholesterol; 11 grams protein, 35.2 grams carbohydrates, 0.4 grams fiber, 1,033 milligrams sodium.
