Pasties
1 cup margarine
1 cup hot water
3 cup flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tsp. salt
FILLING:
2 lbs. beef or pork
3 med. onions, chopped
5 to 6 potatoes, diced
Salt and pepper to taste
Rutabaga (optional)
Melt margarine in hot water; let cool. Add flour, baking powder, and salt gradually. Refrigerate overnight. Mix vegetables, meat, salt, and pepper. Roll out dough into 5 to 6 circles. Place filling mixture on half of crust; fold other half over. Crimp edges, which have been moistened with a little to seal. Bake on cookie sheet for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven; cover with a towel for a few minutes to soften crust. Serve with ketchup, mustard, or pickles. Hamburger may be used for filling.
