Pasta with Sausage


3 quarts water
1/2 pound sliced sausage (turkey, veal or pork)
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 sliced onion
1 cup tomato or spaghetti sauce
4 cloves garlic, cut into slivers
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 pound sliced mushrooms
1/2 pound pasta
1/2 cup grated parmesan

Heat 3 quarts water in large saucepan. In the meantime, place the remaining ingredients (except pasta and cheese) in a large skillet. Cook, stirring, over medium heat.

When the water boils in the saucepan, add the pasta. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes. Drain in a colander and toss with the sauce ingredients in the skillet, mixing well. Top with cheese and serve on warm dinner plates.

Makes 4 servings.
